Terms of Service
Last updated: November 6, 2026
These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your use of The Yarn Nook (“the Service”), operated by STJ Adriana Dutka (“we”, “us”), a sole proprietorship (jednoosobowa działalność gospodarcza) based in Poland. By creating an account or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the Service.
The short version
- The Yarn Nook is a personal yarn inventory tool, run as a hobby project — not a company with a support team or uptime guarantees.
- You’re responsible for your account and for the content you add. Don’t upload anything illegal or that isn’t yours to share.
- You can delete your account at any time, instantly and for free, from Settings.
- We can suspend accounts that abuse or attack the Service, and we may change or shut down the Service itself — we’ll explain both below.
- The Service is provided “as is”, with no warranty, to the extent the law allows.
1. The Service
The Yarn Nook lets you keep track of your yarn stash — brands, colors, quantities, and photos — and, as features are added, your crochet/knitting projects. It’s built and maintained by one person as a side project, not a funded company. We try to keep it reliable, but we don’t promise it will always be available, error-free, or exactly the same from one day to the next.
2. Who can use it
The Service is intended for people aged 16 or over. By using it, you confirm you meet this requirement. It’s intended for personal, non-commercial use — keeping track of your own yarn — rather than as inventory software for a business.
3. Your account
- You need an account, with a valid email address, to use the Service.
- You’re responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity that happens under your account. Tell us at ad.apps852@gmail.com if you believe someone else has access to it.
- Your email must be confirmed (via the link we send) before your account can create or change any data — this is also explained in our Privacy Policy.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to, and not to attempt to:
- Access, or attempt to access, another user’s account or data, or interfere with the access controls that keep accounts private;
- Use automated means (bots, scripts) to create accounts, or otherwise abuse the sign-up, sign-in, or password-reset system;
- Upload content that is illegal, infringes someone else’s rights (for example, copyrighted photos that aren’t yours to use), or contains personal data about anyone other than yourself;
- Probe, scan, or try to disrupt the Service’s security or availability, or reverse engineer it beyond what the law allows.
If you break these rules, we may warn you, suspend your account, or delete it, depending on how serious the issue is. Where we can, we’ll try to give you notice first — but for active abuse (for example, a compromised or bot-created account) we may act immediately to protect the Service and other users.
5. Your content
Everything you add — yarn details, colors, notes, and photos (“Your content”) — remains yours. We don’t claim ownership of it. By adding it, you grant us the limited right to store, process, and display it back to you as needed to run the Service (for example, saving it to our database, and generating the links used to show your photos).
You’re responsible for Your content and confirm you have the right to upload it. We don’t review it before it’s stored, since it’s private to you, but we may remove content or suspend an account if we become aware it violates these Terms or the law.
6. Ending this agreement
You can stop using the Service and delete your account at any time, free of charge, from Settings → Delete my account. This takes effect immediately, permanently removes your stash, photos, and account, and can’t be undone.
If you’re a consumer in the European Union, you also have the right to withdraw from this agreement within 14 days of creating your account, without giving a reason, by contacting us at ad.apps852@gmail.com or simply deleting your account yourself as above — since the Service is free and account deletion is immediate and always available, this right has no separate practical effect beyond what you can already do yourself at any time.
7. Our right to suspend or end the Service
Because this is a hobby project rather than a funded company, we may need to change, limit, suspend, or discontinue the Service, in whole or in part, at any time. Where reasonably possible, we’ll give registered users advance notice (for example, by email) before shutting it down entirely, so you have a chance to save or request a copy of your data first.
We may also suspend or delete an individual account for a clear violation of these Terms, such as the abuse described in Section 4.
8. Changes to the Service, and to these Terms
The Service is currently free to use. We may introduce paid features in the future; if we do, we’ll describe them clearly, including price and what they cover, and update these Terms before they apply to you — nothing will be charged without your clear agreement at the time.
We may also update these Terms themselves, for example as the Service gains features. We’ll post the new version on this page with a revised “Last updated” date, and if a change is significant, we’ll let registered users know, for example by email. Continuing to use the Service after a change takes effect means you accept the updated Terms.
9. No warranty
The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we make no warranties — express or implied — about its reliability, availability, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. We don’t guarantee the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free, or that any data (including your stash and photos) will never be lost. Please don’t rely on the Service as the only record of anything important to you.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, or for the loss of data, even if we were advised such loss was possible. Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under the law applicable to you — including, under Polish law, liability for damage caused intentionally.
11. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Polish law. If you’re a consumer resident in the European Union, this doesn’t take away any protection given to you by the mandatory consumer- protection laws of your own country of residence, which continue to apply alongside these Terms. EU consumers can also use the European Commission’s Online Dispute Resolution platform to raise a complaint.
